Paper Reviewing Procedure
«Theory of Language and Intercultural Communication» The electronic scientific periodical "Theory of Language and Intercultural Communication" publishes scientific articles, reviews and theses in the following branch of science: 10.00.00 – philological sciences

Submission guidelines

The journal publishes the articles and scientific materials that have been discussed at a department, or at a seminar of a certain University unit. The article and the necessary set of documents are delivered to the journal’s editorial office (room 337), or sent by mail: to E.A. Zaharchuck. 33 Radishcheva St, 305000, Kursk, Russia, for "Theory of Language and Intercultural Communication".
Authors willing to publish their articles in the represented field of science can send their materials following the rules of submission given below. The Editorial Board makes a decision of publication or rejection of the article after reviewing and discussing it.

Review procedure
Received manuscripts are refereed by the Editorial Board. A review can’t be made by the specialists working at the same department (unit) where the research was carried out. Reviewing is carried out confidentially; reviewers are not allowed to make copies of the materials which are the authors’ intellectual property. An author of a paper reviewed gets a copy of a review upon request. Confidentiality can be abandoned in case of the reviewer’s uncertainty about the authenticity and veracity of the text.
If the review suggests the need for some corrections, the article is sent to the author for further improvement. As soon as the corrected article is received by the Editorial Board, it is ready to be published.
In the case of disagreement with a reviewer's opinion, an author has the right to provide a well-reasoned answer to the editorial office. An article can be sent for re-reviewing, or be submitted for the Editorial Board's endorsement.

Publication is free of charge.
Articles are submitted to the journal "Theory of Language and Intercultural Communication" in one printed copy (33 Radishcheva St, 305000, Kursk, Russia, to E.A. Zaharchuk), font size 14, spacing 1, and in the electronic form (font size 14, spacing 1) at the following e-mail address:

A prerequisite for the publication of scientific works in the journal is the signing of an author's contract
NB! Graduate students must provide a review of the scientific supervisor in print, signed and sealed.

Common guidelines for manuscripts
(Mandatory structural elements of an article)

- UDC code (14 pt, bold, left of the article title; determined by a bibliographer)
- the title (in capital letters, font size 14, bold);
- the list of authors (italic bold, 14 pt), indicating a scientific degree and title, place of work or study, position, e-mail address (italic, font size 12);
- a brief abstract in Russian (italic, 12 font size, within 5-8 lines, the use of formulas, tables and figures in the abstract is not desirable; the word "abstract" is not necessary);
- keywords (according to the format of the abstract);
- the text of the article (size 14, spacing 1);
- references (size 14, the subtitle “References” in bold italic);
- the translation of all information into English (except for the article body and references) on a separate page.

Detailed instructions for publications format
UDC code of the article is placed at the top line aligned to the left edge, the next line in the center must contain the article title in bold capital letters 14pt (no full stop at the end of the title, center alignment, no indentation). Before and after the title there must be a gap. The initials and surname of the author(s) are placed in the next line in the middle, 14pt bold italic. Below in the center there must be the author’s academic degree, academic title, position, place of work or study (department or other unit); then below – the contact e-mail address, the affiliation (University), 12 pt italics.
The mentioned information is followed (with the indentation) by a brief abstract in Russian of no more than 6 lines and the keywords (up to 6 words or phrases), 12 pt italic, justified alignment. After the keywords there must be a 1-space indentation. All the information provided above (article title, information about the author (s), abstract and keywords) must be accompanied by an English translation on a separate page after the reference list.
The pages of text, illustrations and tables must comply with the format A4 in accordance with GOST 9327. The electronic version of the manuscript shall be made in the .rtf format to the settings of A4 paper size (210x297mm), single-spaced. The font color should be black, size 14. The text of the publication should be submitted using the following margins: on the right - 25 mm, left - 25 mm, top - 25 mm, bottom - 25 mm. To focus on certain terms, formulas, theorems, one can use fonts of different headsets and other computer advantages. The quality of the printing and the settings of illustrations, tables, printouts must comply with the requirement of a clear display. Uniform density, contrast, and sharpness throughout the text must be maintained.
Pages are not numbered.
Illustrations (drawings, figures, graphs, charts, diagrams, photographs, drafts) should be placed immediately after the text in which they are mentioned for the first time, or on the next page. All illustrations should be given to the reference in the publication. Drawings, graphs, charts, diagrams must meet the requirements of state standards of the Unified system of documentation design. Captions are placed underneath and numbered in Arabic numerals. The title of the drawing and all the comments must be in 10pt.
Symbols (line strokes, highlighting / halftones) must be clear and understandable. Picture captions should not be included in the image itself (for the convenience of making electronic changes). Picture caption is not needed, if the picture is clear to the reader and if the figure is in the only one in the whole text. The format of figures: min 90x120mm, max 130x120 mm. Between the figure caption and the text there must be a single-space indentation. Illustrations, tables and formulas are allowed to place within the entire width of the page.
Tables are used for the sake of clarity and ease of indicators comparison. The table title, if it is given, must reflect its contents, be precise, concise; it is placed above the table on the left, no indentation, on the same line with its number. It is recommended to format a table in such a way that avoids the transfer of parts the table onto the next page. If the transfer of the table is inevitable, the title is placed only above the first part of the table. The table should be placed directly after the part of the text in which it is mentioned for the first time, or on the next page. All tables should be referenced. A table with a large number of rows may be transferred to another page. Using a smaller font size in the table is allowed.
If there’s only one table in the text, it is not numbered (the word "table" is not placed either). The information from the table should not be fully duplicated in the text. Drawing attention to the data in the table, the author comments on them, compares the performance of different columns or rows.
References to sources used should be given in square brackets. For example: [Ivanov 1990: 50-53]. The list of references is given at the end of the article (in alphabetical order, without numbering, the author's name or the first words of the title).
When making a list of references, the author should be guided by GOST R 7.0.5-2008 "Bibliography link. General requirements and rules."
The reference list is typed in 14pt normal font, and its title - in bold italics.
Paragraph alignment must be justified, line indention of the new paragraph - 1.25 cm.
One author can submit no more than two articles.
Editorial Board has a right to reject an article if it doesn’t respond to the subject of the journal and submission guidelines. Reviewing procedure takes one month after paper receiving.
